Interruptions

Posted by evanduq on June 1, 2007

Last night, I said that I was going to write a book called “Interruptions.” It would be all about my life and the distractions that occur when I try to do something. This remark was more of a way of letting off steam than a serioius threat, but I do think fruitful philosophical reflection can be had by meditating on the concept of interruption, that is, if we aren’t distracted first…

I’ve been trying to keep up with reading since the summer began. So far, I’ve read Branka Arsic’s The Passive Eye, Manuel De Landa’s War in the Age of Intelligent Machines, Gilles Deleuze’s Expressionism in Philosophy, and Manuel De Landa’s A Thousand Years of Nonlinear History. Besides these four books, I’ve begun and aborted various others. Right now, I’m trying to find the time for an extended sit-down of reading. I work 10hours per day at a job that is an hour away from home. I do have time to listen to lectures from Bernsteintapes.com, but opportunities to read are few and far between.

Also, I’m still thinking about Kant…
