Future behaviour is un/sub/consciously modeled on past behaviour, until a human is but an aggregation of an imitation of an imitation of an imitation etc. of its former self. What is the true authentic self? -- the series of gestures and imitations that form the seamless continuity between what we were, which then becomes subsumed by what we are constantly becoming. We are not; but becoming enhanced copies of ourselves. We die as scarred tissue. C-3PO is just transmitting messages -- but how do we know that humans -from the lowliest to the loftiest - are not?
