Later Modern because it attempted to synthesize systematically the best of the previous (especially in Hegel) and it set the stage most for what we have today in continental philosophy. I also hear that Kant is a major forerunner to the analytic movement.

'..and poof!. It dissapeared..'

No - it's just transitioned to a new position on the trajectory of its becoming. Nothing is lost, only reconfigured with new entry & exit points.

Well Mudlark,

I spent all morning thinking about your comment and had almost finished writing a reply to it when I rested my hands on the keyboard and poof!. It dissapeared. Too bad my own short term memory is not as good as an automatic draft saver, but oh well. If the inspiration strikes again, which most likely will happen, I'll give it another go.

With each succession of lived instance of life, humans become increasingly better imitators of themselves. Future behaviour is un/sub/consciously modeled on past behaviour, until a human is but an aggregation of an imitation of an imitation of an imitation etc. of its former self. What is the true authentic self? -- the series of gestures and imitations that form the seamless continuity between what we were, which then becomes subsumed by what we are constantly becoming. We are not; but becoming enhanced copies of ourselves. We die as scarred tissue.

C-3PO is just transmitting messages -- but how do we know that humans -from the lowliest to the loftiest - are not?
